Maer delivers rotary neck trimmer of its ST SERIES for a filling line for one-gallon plastic bottles for filling HTST processed dairy products for extended life, line supplied by FEDERAL MFG, a US filling equipment manufacturer.

A sealed sterile gallon bottle is delivered to the filling line from the bottle blow moulding operation at the same dairy plant.

The bottle is opened by a Maer ST900 rotary trimmer inside of a Class 100 Hepa Filter enclosure and immediately filled and capped in this environment by Federal’s rotary filler. A compression-lined screw cap was sanitized using H2O2 and UV light treatment.

The line is able to achieve a 29-day refrigerated code life for standard gallons of fresh milk.

Maer, presents its economic series of bottle spin trimmers SB330. The SB 330 SERIES includes a range of equipment for cutting the lost head of plastic blow moulded bottles, ideal to be integrated in blow moulding operations of all type of containers and for productions of up to 4,000 bottles per hour, as a complement of the blow molding machine, releasing this last one from the neck deflashing stage.

This flexible range of spin trimmers also includes equipment with capability to run up to 12,000 bottles per hour that allow to implement the neck cutting stage  before the filler – at medium/high production speeds – in bottling lines, specially for the manufacturing of liquid yogurt in HDPE bottles.

Bottle Trimmers for Aseptic Filling: Maer rotary neck trimmers can be integrated in milk and liquid yogurt filling lines for a safe, hygienic, ultraclean and aseptic bottling process.

CUTTING SYSTEM FEATURES:

Maer bottle trim equipment incorporates a fixed cutting system featuring bottle rotation and carousel orbital movement.

It consists on a set of rollers (1) and a blade holder (2) specially adapted to the neck of bottles and a stationary, but adjustable (3), knife (4).

The neck of the bottle is gripped at three points, eliminating the risk of any unwanted movement of the bottle during the trimming operation, thus guaranteeing a perfect cut and sealing surface on all plastic materials.

The rotation of the container along the knife is limited to the diameter or circumference of the open neck, which prevents the generation of chips or plastic particles.
